Types of Therapy

Our Medical Professionals employ a wide range of proven techniques for each individual case. Below, you’ll find a brief explanation of the effective Chiropractic techniques we use at our practice.

The Diversified Technique is the most commonly used adjustment technique by Chiropractors. Diversified adjustments are characterized by a rapid yet gentle manipulation of the joint complex that is out of alignment and in need of restoration of proper function. Diversified is differentiated from other techniques in that its objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of spine and joint dysfunction.

Trigger Point

The primary purpose of Trigger Point Therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the texture of the underlying muscle.

A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle from physical, chemical or emotional stress.

Flexion Distraction Technique

The goal of Flexion Distraction is to decompress the spine by applying gentle stretching or traction to the lower spine. This is a highly effective, gentle, low force technique developed by Dr. James A. Cox which allows the body to heal itself, naturally.

Drop Table

This technique makes use of specialized drop-piece mechanisms in the table to assist the adjustment. Individual cushions or "drop pieces" located along the table support each area of the spine until the thrust is given. Then, each drop-piece gently gives way, reducing the pressure needed to move a specific spinal segment.

Additional Therapies

Our office employs many physio-therapy modalities, including ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, Russian Stimulation (rehab EMS), Intersegmental Traction as well as Manual Traction and a variety of Physical Therapy techniques, including Thera-Band Exercise, Treadmill and other Rehabiliative Methods which are very effective for Sports and Work Injury Recovery.

Innovative and New Techniques

We are always searching for new, highly effective ways of treating the body in order to offer our patients the advantage of the development and the advance of technology in healing. One such therapy is H-Wave which our office utilizes to produce improvement in Chronic Pain Patients that traditional muscle stimulation is unable to help.
